Jul 2010 – CBA is proud to announce the latest release of our “Strategy FocalPoint” product. This innovative system provides clients with software based Strategy Deployment and Performance Management capabilities. The tool is web based and has a host of client benefits and new features, many of which we believe are unique. We are hugely excited about this latest release which has been in development for the past 12 months. The system has already attracted major interest and we are currently engaged in deployment discussions with a variety of prospective clients.
Jul 2010 – CBA has been commissioned through Scottish Enterprise to provide Lean services to North British Distillery. The first assignment is to provide awareness training. The lead consultant for this work is our new associate Chris McCann.
Jun 2010 – This month CBA supported the introduction of an S&OP process (Integrated Business Management) at a major engineering organisation. A cross functional implementation team was assembled and the new process was designed. Roll-out will begin next month.
Jun 2010 – CBA is now supporting a “Lessons Learned” programme for a client who require a standardised process to capture and spread best practice across the organisation. The lead consultant for this work is our associate Graham Forbes. “Idea Re-Use” is an area in which Graham has developed great expertise and much experience.
May 2010 – CBA has been commissioned to perform a Product Reliability Engineering assessment at Kanthal who produce silicon carbide heating elements. Colin Barr will call on his previous experience as Reliability Engineering Manager at DEC.
Apr 2010 – CBA will lead another 5S improvement programme at Albion Automotive. The lead consultant for this work is our associate John Craig.
Mar 2010 – Over the next 6 months CBA will be facilitating “Open” Six Sigma training being hosted by Life Technologies but with participants from other industries.
Mar 2010 – CBA is supporting a client on a Procurement and Logistics improvement programme. A significant new contract for the client means that the entire Logistics process will have to be re-engineered. The lead consultant is our associate John Craig.

Feb 2010 - CBA has just completed a Lean & Six Sigma programme supporting the Process Improvement Department at The Student Loans Company. This is the organisations first exposure to the methodology.
Oct 2009 - Official Supplier to SMAS
CBA is delighted to announce that we have been selected as a supplier of consultancy services to the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) which is part of Scottish Enterprise. Specifically we will be providing Lean Manufacturing support to facilitate improvement within Scottish business. We are looking forward to developing this new relationship and are confident that the partnership will benefit small and medium sized enterprises in particular.
Sep 2009 - Consort Medical
CBA has embarked on a programme to develop the strategic direction and framework of Continuous Improvement at Consort Medical. This interesting new development follows a restructuring of the business and builds on the successes the company has delivered via the use of Six Sigma.
May 2009 - >30% Cycle Time Reduction
CBA has successfully delivered a 30% reduction in process cycle time for a client requiring high volume, fast, but secure access to their offices. We applied mathematical models to the complex queuing situation to understand process sensitivities. We used a DMAIC approach and deployed techniques such as VSM, Cause-Effect-Screen, and Process Capability.
May 2009 - 5S Video
We have now pulled together a video of our recent 5S work. It demonstrates how the 5S process works and the huge improvements that this simple technique can bring in a very short space of time. We are very encouraged by the success of this programme which has delivered major "hard" and "soft" benefits.
Mar 2009 - Change Management Programme
CBA is delivering our specially designed Change Leader programme at Babcock Marine Warships Business based in Rosyth. This organisation is moving into a new era of growing the business. Our engagement at Rosyth represents an expansion of the Change Management programme we established with Babcock Marine Clyde.
Feb 2009 - 5S Programme
CBA has been commissioned to drive a major programme of 5S work at HMNB Faslane. The work will include training employees in the technique as well as facilitating a number of Kaizen Blitz events. The scope includes both workshop and office areas.
Dec 2008 - Sponsors of Third International Conference on Six Sigma
CBA were proud to sponsor the International Six Sigma conference held in Edinburgh in December. The conference was opened by Jim Mather (Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism) and the keynote speakers included Douglas Montgomery (World renowned expert in SPC and DOE) and Roger Hoerl (GE Global Research). This busy conference combined commercial and research papers on Six Sigma. We found the workshops hosted by Shirley Coleman (Newcastle Unviersity) on DOE, and Alan Harrison (The Weir Group) on Lean, particularly interesting.
Nov 2008 - Motorola Networking Event
We were delighted to see over 50 current and ex-Motorola managers who came to our reunion event in Glasgow in November. It was great to meet up with some of our old colleagues and catch up on the latest news. A good time was had by all. The event was co-sponsored by ourselves, Keyshift Associates and Solutions Driven.
Sept 2008 - New Green Belts at BioReliance
CBA has just kicked off the second group of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training at BioReliance, Scotland. The first group was a huge success with all nine Green Belt projects delivered to a successful conclusion. This work is helping BioReliance meet it’s aggressive operational objectives.
Aug 2008 - Change Leaders at BM
Another wave of our Change leader programme is being organised for delivery at Babcock Marine. This builds on the existing capability which the organisation has, and positions BM for a wider range of change projects to be successfully delivered. The programme will run over the next six months.
July 2008 - Metalysis Improves It’s Processes
Metalysis is an exciting start up company based in Rotherham and has developed leading technology to produce and supply speciality metals. Metalysis are currently reviewing their key processes using our Improvement Auditor approach.
June 2008 - Invitrogen Norway
Our fourth successful visit to Invitrogen in Oslo. The Dynal team has developed an amazing “separation product” which combines chemical and biological structures and has important medical applications. The organisation is trying to achieve better efficiencies from their processes. We were involved in supporting that effort using Value Stream Mapping and in delivering Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training.
May 2008 - Jabil International Black Belts
Our most international cast of experts have now completed their Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training ! These Jabil Black Belt sessions had participants from Brazil, Mexico, France, Finland, Hungary, and Scotland. The course was held in Dutch (only kidding !) Our location was wonderful Harburn Estate in West Lothian where the food is absolutely World Class!
Mar 2008 - India of Inchinnan
This was the location of two recent Project Management events which we facilitated. We were impressed by the building, the facilities, and by the helpful staff. If you need a conference facility in the area, India of Inchinnan is definitely worth a look.
Jan 2008 - Kelvin Hughes Contract
We are proud to have been awarded a contract to deliver a Six Sigma programme for Kelvin Hughes in partnership with our friends at TQMI. This group of companies has a long tradition specialising in radar and ocean navigation. One of the projects focuses on Repair Reliability.
